After six years of remarkable growth as a 100% volunteer-driven organization, the Hingham Unity Council has reached an exciting milestone: we’re hiring our first Executive Director.

This part-time position (approximately 15 hours per week) with competitive compensation represents more than organizational expansion—it’s recognition of the transformative work we’ve accomplished and our commitment to deepening our impact in the community. We’re seeking a passionate leader who shares our vision of bridging differences in experience and perspective to build a culture that respects and values the dignity and humanity of every community member.

What has brought us to this pivotal moment? Our 2024-2025 program year exemplifies the power of our mission in action. We celebrated our 5th Annual Juneteenth Celebration, fostering understanding through our shared history. Our Tastes of the World: Voices That Inspire dinner series created meaningful dialogue across diverse experiences. We partnered with the Hingham Human Rights Commission for an Immigration Law presentation that addressed complex issues with nuance and compassion. The downtown Chanukah Menorah Lighting brought neighbors together in celebration with our Jewish community. Our METCO Family Painting Day strengthened community bonds, while powerful screenings of Who We Are and Unbroken sparked essential conversations about justice and resilience.

These initiatives, among others, demonstrate our core belief that unity embraces diversity and is never silent. We’ve proven that when people with different opinions, perspectives, and experiences engage with willingness to exchange ideas, we create something stronger than what any of us could achieve alone.

Our convictions drive us forward, and our uniqueness makes us stronger. Unity doesn’t mean uniformity or neutrality—it means having the courage to engage authentically while working toward acceptance and inclusivity.

Ready to help lead this vision forward? If you are interested in leading Hingham Unity Council in its next chapter, we want to hear from you.

Together, we’re proving that bridging differences creates lasting change.
