2024 Scholarship Winners

Aliyjah-Debrosse

We are so excited to announce our 2024 HUC Scholarship winners! Aliyjah Debrosse is the winner of our 2024 Camilla Roundtree METCO Scholarship.

Aliyjah has been described by her teachers as “committed, focused, and serious” and, at the same time, possessed of “impressive networking skills.” Aliyjah launched the Crochet and Knitting Club for “creatives” at the school to “show their love of textile arts.” The group welcomed members from many different backgrounds and created blankets to donate to a local church. Aliyjah is also part of the HHS mentor program, joining in order in the hopes that all students coming into HHS found someone relatable among the mentor ranks. We are thrilled to award her one of our scholarships!

elise eichner

Elise Eichner is the winner of our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Scholarship.

Her life experience led her to be an early member of the Hingham Unity Project, where she always brought “energy and vision” to the work, according to the group’s adviser, ultimately becoming elected Treasurer. She has also been a participant in School of the World, traveling to Panama and Guatemala to build classrooms in rural communities. She has shown a strong commitment to helping others at Hingham High and beyond feel more included and safe in our community. Congratulations Elise!
