We welcome with great pleasure Emmanuel “Manny” Oppong as our third Board chair commencing September 1, 2025. Manny has served on the HUC Board for over five years. He and his family are active members of the Hingham community, where Manny has served for several years as a youth soccer coach.
Emmanuel “Manny” Oppong is the Executive Vice President and Chief Program Officer of Open Sky Community Services. As Chief Program Officer, Oppong is responsible for all aspects of service delivery across Open Sky’s broad continuum of care for children, adults and families affected by mental health and substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, brain injury, homelessness and other complex challenges.
Prior to joining Open Sky, Oppong was Vice President of Service Integration at Riverside Community Care. He has also served as an area clinical manager with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families and was an assistant director with the Boston Emergency Services team providing mobile crisis intervention.
Oppong is a licensed independent clinical social worker, and earned a Master of Social Work degree from Simmons University and studied Human Services Leadership and Public Administration at Suffolk University through a fellowship with the Executive Office of Health and Human Services. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English Education from the University of Education in Ghana.
