Join your neighbors from across the South Shore at the Bandstand at the Hingham Harbor on Thursday, June 19, 2025 to celebrate Juneteenth Freedom Day with free family fun for ALL! This year, the Hingham Unity Council is partnering with members of the South Shore Unity Council to produce this event. We are excited to mark this as our FIFTH celebration! Highlights will include:

Angelena Hightower is the frontwoman of one of Boston’s premier cover bands, Angelena and The Unit. With over 30+ years of experience in the business of music and entertainment,

Angelena Hightower has graced the stage with notable artists such as Patti LaBelle, Josh Groban, Celine Dion and Michael Bolton. Most recently, Angelena and her band has performed for the NAACP national convention, the Arts Emerson Foundation, the Legends gala for the Museum of African American History, the Urban League of Massachusetts 100th and 105th Anniversary celebrations, the New Commonwealth fund gala and many others. Angelena has also appeared on the Today show and Vh1: Diva’s holiday-unsilent night special.

2024 was a year of expansion for Angelena and The Unit. The group’s busy schedule included high profile shows supporting national acts such as Rob Base and Christopher Williams and also their first headlining New York City performance at City Winery, New York City. Angelena and The Unit brought in 2025 with a headlining NYE show at the newly opened Grace By Nia at Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Ledyard, CT.
