Tastes of the World/Voices That Inspire: Amanda Ripley

Hingham Congregational Church - Hale Fellowship Hall 366 Main Street, Hingham, MA, United States

How do good people lose their minds in soul-crushing conflicts with co-workers, neighbors, grown siblings or even national politicians they’ve never met? In her book High Conflict, through the stories of half a dozen conflict survivors in three countries, journalist Amanda Ripley reveals how humans can help one another break out of destructive feuds–and generate healthy, useful conflict instead. Amanda Ripley is a New York Times bestselling author, a Washington Post contributing columnist, and the co-founder of Good Conflict, a media and training company that helps people reimagine conflict. Join us for a "fireside chat" with Ms. Ripley that is sure to be enlightening and fascinating and a delicious Latino dinner catered by Boston's Merengue Restaurant. Read more about Amanda Ripley here. Soft drinks will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own beverage as well. The $25 per person cost of this event includes a full dinner and the speaker. We strongly encourage any individual who would like to attend but finds the cost prohibitive to please email info@hinghamunity.org for a confidential, complimentary ticket. Seating is limited and this event will sell out. Our ListServ members received a code to access tickets today (another reason to join our email list!). Ticket sales to the general public will open on Monday, March 24, 2025. Copies of "High Conflict" are available to borrow in advance - please email us at info@hinghamunity.org to borrow one.
